A powerful supercell storm system has entered western Poland, triggering widespread IMGW alerts across 15 provinces, while a concurrent heatwave brings temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius nationwide.

Storm Path and Intensity
Around 4:00 PM, storms moved through the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, affecting areas including Pyrzyce, Lipiany, My艣lib贸rz, Banie, Mory艅, and Chojna. Additional storm cells were tracked along the German border, heading toward Gorz贸w Wielkopolski, Kostrzyn nad Odr膮, and Rzepin.
According to tvnmeteo.pl, a strong supercell entered West Pomerania, bringing heavy rain and potential hail. While these storms are isolated, they are intense, producing 20-30 liters of water per square meter hourly, with local surges of 30-40 liters. Wind gusts are reaching 60-90 km/h.
Emergency Alerts and Safety
The Government Security Centre (RCB) has issued alerts for Szczecin and seven districts: Choszczno, Goleni贸w, Gryfino, My艣lib贸rz, Police, Pyrzyce, and Stargard. Residents have been urged to find safe shelter due to the risks of strong rain and wind.
IMGW weather warnings are currently in effect for parts of the West Pomeranian, Greater Poland, Lubusz, and Lower Silesian provinces. The forecast includes up to 35 mm of rainfall, gusts up to 80 km/h, and local hail, with alerts set to expire between Friday night and Saturday.
Heatwave Forecast
Simultaneously, IMGW has issued first and second-degree heat warnings. Saturday temperatures in parts of Pomerania, Warmia-Masuria, Kuyavia-Pomerania, and Masovia may reach 32 degrees Celsius, with higher values expected in the Lublin and Podkarpacie regions throughout the weekend.
Second-degree warnings are active in 13 provinces, where temperatures are expected to peak between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius. These warnings remain in effect from Saturday at noon until Sunday at 8:00 PM, with nighttime lows ranging from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.

IMGW warns that these weather conditions pose significant threats to health, life, and property. Officials advise the public to avoid open spaces, stay clear of trees, and secure balconies during storms.
During the heatwave, the public is encouraged to limit physical exertion, stay hydrated, and ensure that children and animals are never left unattended in vehicles.
