Police Hunt Pair Following Brutal Chmielna Street Robbery

Warsaw police are seeking two suspects who assaulted and robbed a 32-year-old man at knifepoint after he withdrew cash from an ATM in the city center early in the morning.

The Assault and Robbery

Police from the downtown station are investigating a violent robbery that took place on Chmielna Street. A 32-year-old Polish citizen was walking alone after a meeting when he was targeted by two men immediately after using an ATM.

The perpetrators attacked the victim from behind, forcing him to the ground and strangling him. When the man attempted to escape, the attackers threatened him with a knife, ultimately stealing his wallet containing documents and cash totaling over 4,000 PLN.

Surveillance Footage and Investigation

Authorities have released a video segment captured by security cameras that clearly shows the face of one of the suspects. The investigation is being conducted by the downtown police department under the supervision of the Warsaw Śródmieście-Północ District Prosecutor’s Office.
