Drivers will be able to use the new southern Trasa Łazienkowska viaduct over Paryska Street starting Friday, May 29, at 10:00 PM, restoring traffic to its original lanes despite ongoing finishing works.
Traffic Restored with Temporary Restrictions
Starting Friday, May 29, at 10:00 PM, both new viaducts over Paryska Street will open, allowing traffic to flow on the correct lanes in both directions. Despite this, temporary lane restrictions will remain in place to facilitate finishing works.
For about a week, only one lane will be available toward the city center as crews remove old road markings and paint new ones. Toward Gocław and Wawer, one general traffic lane and one bus lane will be operational.
Expanded Access and Transit Changes
The reopening includes access from Wał Miedzeszyński to the Trasa Łazienkowska toward Grochów, the exit to Saska Street, and the link between Urugwajska Street and the route. Public transport will return to permanent stops, and temporary platforms near Saska and Międzynarodowa streets will be dismantled.
Bus routes 411 and E-1 will undergo adjustments, with services redirected along Aleja Stanów Zjednoczonych, Saska, and Międzynarodowa streets to accommodate the new traffic flow as the city manages detours during the concurrent renovation of tram tracks in Aleje Jerozolimskie.
Project Scope and Timeline
The modernization of the Praga section includes rebuilding two 210-meter viaducts, replacing road surfaces, and installing noise barriers. The scope was expanded after structural issues were discovered in the foundation of Aleja Stanów Zjednoczonych, pushing the final completion date to July 2026.
The Capital City Development Board is overseeing the project, executed by Warbud SA and Eurovia Polska SA. The total investment is valued at over 106.4 million PLN, with 101.1 million PLN funded by the Polish Government’s Strategic Investment Program.
