President Donald Trump was evacuated from a dinner event at the Hilton hotel in Washington, D.C., following sounds resembling gunfire.

Initial Reports of Gunfire

Shortly after the dinner began at the Hilton hotel, loud sounds resembling gunshots were heard. President Trump, who was on stage, was immediately evacuated by Secret Service agents.

Trump’s Statement on Truth Social

President Trump posted on Truth Social: “What an evening in D.C. Secret Service and law enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely. The shooter was apprehended and I proposed: LET THE SHOW GO ON, but it will be entirely directed by law enforcement. They will make a decision soon. Regardless of the decision, this evening will definitely be different than planned and we will simply have to do it again.”

Other Evacuees

First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other cabinet members were also evacuated from the event.

No Injuries Reported

According to media reports, neither President Trump nor Vice President Vance were injured and are safe.
