Ziobro Prepares Legal Battle from Hungary, Accuses Tusk of Abuse of Power

Zbigniew Ziobro, former Polish Justice Minister, announced he is preparing for a legal challenge in Hungary, alleging abuse of power by Donald Tusk.

Change of Power in Hungary

Following the recent Hungarian election win by the TISZA party, former minister Viktor Orbán has been ousted. Peter Magyar, the leader of TISZA, has indicated that Polish politicians Zbigniew Ziobro and Marcin Romanowski, currently in Hungary, may face extradition to Poland.

Magyar stated, “I think I spoke very clearly on this topic earlier when I suggested they shouldn’t buy any furniture in Hungary. They shouldn’t go to IKEA, because they won’t be here for long.” He further asserted that Hungary will not serve as a haven for international criminals.

Call for Return to Poland

Magyar previously suggested Ziobro and Romanowski should return home if they have nothing to hide and face the Polish people. He added that if they haven’t already left, they will be subject to extradition.

Ziobro’s Response and Legal Strategy

Zbigniew Ziobro stated he is preparing to bring a case before a Hungarian court, intending to expose alleged abuses of power by Donald Tusk. He maintains he wants to return to Poland only when “the rules of the game” are respected, allowing for his arrest and charges to be filed under fair conditions.

Ziobro claims to possess all necessary documents for a person with political asylum in Hungary but declined to specify their nature. He also avoided directly answering questions about potential contact with Serbian or US officials regarding a possible departure.

Allegations and Charges Against Ziobro

Ziobro faces serious charges in Poland related to the functioning of the Justice Fund during the PiS government’s tenure. He is accused of leading an organized criminal group and misusing his position for criminal activities.

Political Developments within PiS

Recent internal shifts within the PiS party are unfolding, with Mateusz Morawiecki challenging Jarosław Kaczyński. Morawiecki has established the “Rozwój Plus” association, attracting MPs, and remains committed to the success of PiS, focusing on a centrist approach.

Ziobro on New Hungarian Leadership

Ziobro commented that if the new Hungarian Prime Minister acts within the bounds of law and the constitution, no accusations of unlawful action can be made, despite his negative assessment of the new leader’s political agenda.
