Local Police Rescue 25‑Year‑Old Facing Psychological Crisis

In the early hours of Sunday, a 25‑year‑old man in an emotional crisis approached local police in Warsaw’s city center, where they intervened and transported him to the hospital.

Nighttime Encounter

At 1:50 a.m. on 15/16 November, an intoxicated 25‑year‑old man approached police enforcing the nighttime alcohol‑sales ban in Śródmieście. He told officers he was tired of life and asked for help.

Police Response

The Special Unit officers explained that they are trained to help people, but some situations cannot be anticipated and must rely on instinct.

Empathetic Conversation

The officers asked the man to sit with them in the ambulance, and, with his consent, carried out a full empathetic conversation. He admitted he had wanted to end his life moments earlier but felt compelled to approach them.

Emergency Transport

Within less than twenty minutes, the now calmer man was en route to the hospital under the care of qualified medical rescuers, notified by the police.
