Trump Threatens Iran After Escalation: “They Will Pay the Price”

Donald Trump declared the “tyrant of the Middle East is dead” on Wednesday, threatening consequences for Iran following a week of spiraling military tensions and direct combat exchanges.

Trump’s Ultimatum to Tehran

On Wednesday, June 10, Donald Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Iran is merely engaging in rhetoric without action. He criticized the Iranian leadership for delaying a potential deal, warning that they will now have to pay the price for their actions.

The former president did not specify what retaliatory measures the United States might take. Just days prior, Trump had suggested a deal with Tehran was imminent, claiming an agreement could be reached within 48 to 72 hours.

Military Escalation and Helicopter Loss

The rhetoric intensified following the crash of an American Apache combat helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday. Trump accused Iran of downing the aircraft, insisting that the American response should be firm.

CNN, citing anonymous sources, reported that the helicopter was struck by an Iranian Shahed drone. Officials noted that it remains unclear whether the collision was intentional.

Cross-Border Strikes and Regional Conflict

The U.S. military confirmed it conducted strikes on Iranian targets, including air defense systems and radar installations, near the Persian Gulf. In retaliation, Iran launched drone attacks on U.S. forces in Bahrain and fired missiles at American military facilities in Jordan. Kuwait also reported intercepting Iranian missiles.

On Wednesday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for 21 separate attacks on U.S. bases across the Middle East. They also asserted that they had shot down an American MQ-9 drone and struck the Al-Azrak base in Jordan with ballistic missiles.
