National Guard Casualties
According to Internal Security Secretary Krista Noem, two National Guard soldiers were shot. Police confirmed that at least one of the injured was taken into custody.
President and Vice President Briefed
White House spokesperson Karolina Leavitt said President Donald Trump had been briefed and that the White House was monitoring the tragic situation. Vice President J.D. Vance was in Kentucky at the time of the incident.
Emergency Response
Police ordered residents to stay away from the scene, secured the area, and dispatched emergency medical teams. Secret Service agents were present on the scene. Two of the injured are in critical condition; one was shot but not life‑threatening.
