Five-Vehicle Pileup Snarls Traffic on S8 Expressway

A multi-vehicle collision involving two trucks and three cars in Turzyn on Monday night resulted in one hospitalization and hours of significant traffic disruption on the S8 highway.

Sequence of the Incident

Wyszków police are investigating a major collision that occurred shortly after 11:00 PM on Monday, May 18, on the S8 road in Turzyn. A 31-year-old driver of a Mercedes truck, traveling in the right lane toward Ostrów Mazowiecka, struck a Man truck parked on the emergency lane and subsequently hit a stationary Toyota.

Secondary Damage and Cleanup

The impact caused the Mercedes cargo space to rupture, spilling goods including potted plants across the lanes. These remnants, along with debris from the vehicles, caused two additional cars, a Jaguar and a BMW, to sustain damage after driving over the road hazards.

Casualties and Investigation

A 28-year-old Toyota driver was transported to the hospital; fortunately, his injuries were not serious. Authorities confirmed all drivers were sober. Traffic flow was restricted for several hours while crews cleared the wreckage, and local police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash.
