A 41-year-old man was apprehended by the SPEED police unit on May 18, 2026, on the S7 expressway near Przyborowice for speeding while violating two active court-ordered driving bans.
Speeding Violation Leads to Traffic Stop
On May 18, 2026, shortly after 7:00 a.m., officers from the Płońsk traffic department, operating within the Masovian SPEED group, were patrolling the S7 expressway. They observed a BMW traveling toward Gdańsk at an average speed of 139 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
System Check Reveals Prior Convictions
The 41-year-old driver, a resident of the Sierpc district, was initially issued an 800 PLN fine and 9 penalty points for the speeding violation. However, police system checks revealed that the man was subject to two active driving bans issued by the District Court in Sierpc, with one remaining in effect until September 2027.
Legal History and Prosecution
The bans stem from the driver’s history of criminal activity, including impersonating a public official, failing to stop for police, and prior non-compliance with court orders. The driver was detained, and his vehicle was impounded. He now faces charges under Article 244 of the Penal Code for violating court-ordered driving bans, which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.
