Polish Parties Spend Hundreds of Thousands on TV Spots and Polling

PiS spent 602,800 PLN on a television advertising campaign just days before the presidential election, while rival parties also spent tens of thousands on media spots and opinion polls.

PiS TV Advertising Deals

According to the Justice and Equality website, PiS entered about 50 contracts this year. The largest, 602.8 k PLN, was with TV Republika for “spot advertising” signed in May, only days before the first round of presidential voting. In October PiS again paid the channel nearly 40 k PLN for spot air‑time.

Funding Small‑Farm Media Networks

PiS also bought advertising in other right‑wing outlets. In September it paid 25.8 k PLN to Słowo Niezależne, whose shares include the well‑known Srebrna company chaired by PiS financial liaison Tomasz Bartczak. PiS also bought 27 k PLN in ads on the Niezależne Wydawnictwo‑Polskie publishing house, with contracts led by Beata Dróżdż, a PiS councillor.

Money on Opinion Polls and Events

PiS spent over 250 k PLN renting the International Congress Centre in Katowice for the October “Thinking Poland” two‑day convention. In late summer it paid almost 30 k PLN to Social Changes for polling, 52 k PLN to Gold Miners in September, and 66 k PLN to Mands Badania in February. It also signed a 230 k PLN contract in June with ZebraCreative for video spot production.

Coalition Citizens and Other Parties’ Expenditures

The opposition Coalition Citizens (former Civic Platform) executed more than 80 contracts this year, especially for polling with Powerplant and Opinia 24. In January it contracted EDGE NPD for a 178 k PLN market‑segment analysis, and in February signed a 12 million PLN loan with PKO BP to be repaid by January 2028.

Polska 2050, New Left, PSL and Confederation

Polska 2050 (Szymon Hołowni) concluded about 90 contracts, including a 34.2 k PLN video‑service pact in March and a 24.5 k PLN polling order in July. The New Left signed roughly 80 agreements, with a 2.5 million PLN loan in April and a 40 k PLN health‑tax research order in May. PSL spent 25 k PLN for a party flag by a henning workshop and over 90 k PLN for congress venue rentals. Confederation’s 2024 register lists only five contracts, the largest being 38.3 k PLN for conference‑room rentals with catering.
