Nearly 400 Polish law enforcement officers conducted a two-day operation in Wólka Kosowska targeting economic crime and immigration violations.
Operation Overview
A large-scale operation focused on combating economic crime and verifying the legal residency of foreigners was carried out on April 13-14, 2026, at a shopping center in Wólka Kosowska.
The operation involved approximately 400 officers from the Warsaw Police, supported by over 100 from the National Revenue Administration and the Nadwiślański Border Guard Division.
Key Results: Individuals and Criminal Charges
During the two-day operation, the identities of nearly 630 individuals were verified, and 9 people were detained. Six of those detained face deportation proceedings, while others will be charged with excise offenses.
National Revenue Administration Actions
The National Revenue Administration, with police support, conducted 84 inspections and issued 18 fiscal penalties totaling nearly 84,000 PLN.
One vendor was ordered to pay approximately 780,000 PLN in excise duty related to the sale of e-cigarettes with outdated excise markings. Three bank accounts with a combined value of 700,000 PLN were also frozen.
E-Cigarette Smuggling
Police arrested two Chinese citizens found storing over 4,400 e-cigarettes lacking the required Polish excise markings in a storage area of a retail unit. The potential loss to the state treasury from this activity exceeded 360,000 PLN.
Additional Penalties and Seizures
Police issued 9 criminal fines totaling 2,000 PLN and seized property worth over 15,000 PLN and 1,600 EUR to cover future penalties and fines.
