Morawiecki’s Potential New Party Draws 6% Support: CBOS Poll

A CBOS poll indicates that 6% of Polish respondents would support a new political party led by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Morawiecki Party Support & Voter Origins

According to a CBOS study, 6% of respondents would vote for a potential party led by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The majority of its potential electorate would consist of voters from Law and Justice (PiS) – 60%, followed by supporters of the Confederation (27%), and undecided individuals (9%).

The study reveals that if parliamentary elections were held now, 6% of those declaring an intention to vote could support a party branded by Mateusz Morawiecki.

Electoral Breakdown

The percentage breakdown of voters from existing parties within the potential electorate of Morawiecki’s party is as follows: 60% from Law and Justice, 27% from the Confederation, 9% undecided, 2% from the Confederation of Polish Crown of Grzegorz Braun, and 2% from Civic Coalition.

Impact on Existing Parties

CBOS indicates that PiS would suffer the most from the creation of a party by Morawiecki, potentially losing 17% of its current electorate. The Confederation would see a 11% decrease, while the Confederation of Grzegorz Braun would experience a minimal 2% loss.

Limited Appeal to Undecided Voters

The emergence of a Morawiecki party would only slightly aid the decision-making process for undecided voters, with only 4% of this group indicating they would vote for it.

Minimal Alternative for Other Parties’ Supporters

For supporters of other political groups, Morawiecki’s party would represent “practically no alternative.” Only 4 out of 1000 current Civic Coalition voters expressed interest in transferring their votes.

Rozwój Plus Association Context

CBOS also notes that former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki recently founded the political association Rozwój Plus. Following initial controversies and threats of removal from PiS for those joining, an agreement was reached with PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński for the association to operate within PiS as one of its “political lungs.”

The survey was conducted between April 20-22, 2026, using a combination of CATI (80%) and CAWI (20%) methods, with a sample of 1000 adult residents of Poland.
