US Ambassador: Israel Has Biblical Right to All Land from Nile to Euphrates

US Ambassador Mike Huckabee declared Israel has a biblical right to territory from the Nile to Euphrates, while noting Israeli authorities don’t currently seek expansion.

US Ambassador on Israel’s “Biblical Right”

Mike Huckabee, US Ambassador to Israel, gave an interview to American political commentator Tucker Carlson. Huckabee commented on the concept of “Greater Israel,” to which some Zionist activists refer. They claim Israel should control territory from the Nile to the Euphrates, citing God’s covenant with Abraham described in the Bible.

Huckabee stated that Israel has a “biblical right” to take control of an area encompassing all of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and parts of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. “It would be fine if they took everything,” the American said.

Huckabee Clarifies Israeli Government Position

Huckabee noted that while the concept of “Greater Israel” has biblical justification, Israeli authorities do not currently seek territorial expansion. “I don’t think that’s a problem we’re talking about today. They don’t want occupation,” he said.

Previous Biblical References by Israeli Politicians

Israeli politicians have frequently cited the Bible to justify their actions in the Middle East. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for example, referenced a verse from the Book of Isaiah: “Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.” Netanyahu quoted this in the context of the occupation of the Gaza Strip, saying Israel must fulfill the prophecy from the Book of Isaiah.
