Poland’s Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) has ordered the immediate removal of “Rolada Ustrzycka” from Kaufland stores after Listeria monocytogenes was detected.
Urgent Warning: Product Recall from Kaufland Stores
The GIS issued an urgent warning regarding a product available at Kaufland stores in Poland. The decision to immediately remove the product from shelves followed internal tests by the manufacturer confirming the presence of a dangerous bacterium.
Why is the Product Dangerous?
Consumption of food contaminated with this bacterium can lead to listeriosis, which is particularly dangerous for pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal problems.
Which Product is Affected?
The GIS has expanded the recall to include “Rolada Ustrzycka 400 g, K-Stąd takie Dobre!” sold at Kaufland Polska stores. The presence of Listeria monocytogenes has been confirmed in the product.
GIS and Manufacturer Actions
Upon detecting the irregularity, the manufacturer immediately notified the distributor and initiated product recall procedures. Efforts are underway to determine the source of the contamination and eliminate the bacteria from the production facility. Production has been suspended until effective safeguards are implemented.
Kaufland has removed the product not only from stores but also from warehouses, deciding to recall all batches to maximize customer safety.
What Should Consumers Do?
The GIS advises consumers to check if they have the recalled product in their kitchens.
