Warsaw Police & “Kobra” Unit Recover Stolen Vehicles in Suwałki

A joint operation between Warsaw’s District V police and the “Kobra” unit led to the arrest of a 50-year-old man in Suwałki and the recovery of stolen Kia vehicles.

Operation Initiated by “Kobra” Unit Intelligence

Operatives from the “Kobra” unit obtained information regarding a stolen Kia vehicle, taken from Warsaw’s Bielany district, being hidden in a garage in Suwałki.

They collaborated with detectives from the Warsaw V District Police to verify the information, secure the vehicle, and apprehend those involved.

Vehicle Recovery and Suspect Apprehension

Upon arriving in Suwałki, officers observed a green Kia being dismantled by a man inside a garage.

The 50-year-old suspect was immediately arrested. The vehicle was confirmed as stolen from Warsaw earlier in the month, valued at 93,000 złoty.

Additional Stolen Parts Discovered

In addition to the recovered Kia, police found and secured two dashboard beams from other stolen Kia vehicles.

These parts were traced back to thefts that occurred in Warsaw’s Wola district and Piastów.

Officers also discovered GPS signal jamming devices at the scene.

Charges Filed and Investigation Ongoing

The suspect was taken to the Warsaw V District Police station, where he was charged with three counts of receiving stolen goods.

The investigation is being supervised by the Warsaw-Żoliborz District Prosecutor’s Office.
