Drunk Driver Arrested After Police Chase Through Fields

A 47-year-old moped rider from the Kozienice district was arrested in Nowiny on May 18, 2026, after fleeing from police while driving with over 3 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The Failed Escape Attempt

On Monday, May 18, 2026, just after 8:00 PM, traffic police officers patrolling Nowiny spotted a Dafier moped driver whose erratic behavior suggested he was intoxicated. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the man ignored their lights and sirens, initiating a chase through nearby fields and forests.

The 47-year-old was apprehended shortly after the pursuit began. A breathalyzer test confirmed he had a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 3 per mille.

Extensive Legal Violations

The investigation revealed that the man was already under a court-ordered driving ban. Furthermore, his moped lacked a valid technical inspection and mandatory third-party liability insurance.

Police confiscated the vehicle’s registration document and had the moped towed to an impound lot. The man now awaits a court ruling regarding the consequences of his actions.
