A 29-year-old woman driving a Mercedes under the influence of alcohol lost control of her vehicle on Sunday, May 17, in Wola Rębkowska, resulting in a collision with a roadside shrine.
Incident Details and Impairment
On Sunday, May 17, shortly after 6:00 PM, Garwolin police received a report of a traffic accident on Przemysłowa Street in Wola Rębkowska. Officers determined that a 29-year-old woman driving a Mercedes had lost control of the vehicle, veered into a ditch, and struck a nearby religious shrine.
Upon arrival, police conducted a sobriety test, which revealed the driver had a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 1.5 promille.
Legal Consequences and Public Safety
The driver was taken to the police station, and her vehicle was released to an authorized person. Her driver’s license has been confiscated, and she now faces up to three years in prison, substantial fines, and a multi-year driving ban for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
