Police chased a 26-year-old motorcycle rider in Wrocław who ignored signals and fled at high speed.
The High-Speed Pursuit
The incident occurred on Kosmonautów Street in Wrocław. Officers from the traffic department observed a motorcycle rider traveling at 115 km/h in a built-up area. Police attempted to stop the rider for a road check using light and sound signals, but the rider ignored the commands and fled towards Leśnica. During the chase, the rider repeatedly violated traffic rules—running a red light and overtaking other vehicles at a pedestrian crossing and an intersection, creating a real hazard to other road users.
Abandoned Motorbike and Arrest
The pursuit ended near Rawicka Street. The 26-year-old abandoned his motorcycle on a tram track and tried to escape on foot but was apprehended by officers. Checks revealed the man was wanted to determine his whereabouts and lacked a driver’s license. He was riding a motorcycle despite three active court bans on operating motor vehicles. Police also found illegal drugs on him. The motorcycle had its VIN number removed and displayed license plates belonging to another vehicle.
Charges and Penalties
The 26-year-old faces multiple charges, including failing to stop for a road check, driving under a court ban, possessing drugs, using unauthorized license plates, and removing the VIN number. Blood was taken for suspected drug-impaired driving. He faces up to five years in prison for these offenses. Police are also investigating numerous traffic violations, which could incur a fine up to 30,000 złoty.
