Shots Fired at Warsaw School Building

Warsaw high school building shot at with air gun; incident reported Wednesday morning.

Incident Details

The building of the high school on Marszałkowska Street in Warsaw was most likely shot with an air gun. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning in the area of the High School No. 17 at Marszałkowska Street 34/50 in Śródmieście. School employees informed the services about the shooting.

A report about the incident was received by services shortly before 10:00. According to accounts, around 9:30 in the direction of the building, several shots were fired. School employees noticed damage to one of the window panes and immediately informed the police.

Police Response

A police patrol was sent to the scene. Police officers inspected the area around the school and secured several steel balls found near the building. According to preliminary findings, they could have been fired from an air gun.

Police officers also spoke with witnesses of the incident. School students were to provide officers with a description of the person who could have fired shots at the building.

Ongoing Investigation

On-site procedural activities and checking the area for the perpetrator were being conducted. Officers are also analyzing recordings from surveillance cameras in the school area.

As a result of the incident, no one was injured. Police do not yet report any arrests, and the investigation in this case is ongoing.
